metro development PROGRAM TRIALS
The Metro Development Program is a key athlete development opportunity offered by WDNA for selected 12U, 13U, 14U and 16U representative athletes.
Designed to bridge the gap between Association Championships and higher representative opportunities, the program provides athletes with an environment focused on skill development, performance, and long-term progression. Players will represent WDNA in the Metro Development Competition, competing against associations from across the Perth metropolitan area while continuing to develop under experienced coaches. The competition also provides opportunities for athletes to be identified within the Netball WA talent pathway.
The program includes:
- One training session per week
- One competitive match per week
- Experienced representative coaching
- Individual and team skill development
- Opportunities to improve technical, tactical and game awareness
- A supportive, high-performance environment focused on athlete growth
The Metro Development Program is an important step in the WDNA player pathway, helping athletes continue their development, challenge themselves against quality opposition, and prepare for future representative and high-performance opportunities.
Phase 1 – Sunday 13 September 2026
12U & 13U: 4:00pm – 6:00pm
14U & 16U: 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Phase 2 – Sunday 20 September 2026
12U & 13U: 4:00pm – 6:00pm
14U & 16U: 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Location: Wanneroo Districts Netball Association
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your allocated trial session to allow time for registration and warm-up. Should weather conditions require, trials may be relocated to a suitable indoor venue within the local area. Any venue changes will be communicated to registered participants prior to the trial.

Description Title
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2026 Metro Development Program trials. Congratulations to the following athletes selected for their respective teams. To those who were unsuccessful this time, we hope to see you at our 2027 TACT trials.
We would like to invite the following athletes to attend Phase 2 of trials. All invited athletes will be contacted directly with further information.
NET PROGRAM
Woolworths NetSetGo is Australia’s leading grassroots netball program, designed for children aged 5-10 to experience the joy of netball in a fun, safe, and welcoming community.
Our mission is to develop confident, and active kids who will grow a lifelong love of team sport, all while building essential skills.
In this tier, children are introduced to the basics of netball through fun, simple activities that keep them moving and engaged.
This program will be held over 8 weeks and is run on Tuesday afternoons, 4:00pm to 4:45pm at WDNA.
A courtesy email will be sent out 1 week prior to the start of this program, including a mud-map of the location at WDNA Courts, a Group No. and the meeting point for the first day of commencement.
