Beginners Coaching Course
The Beginners Coaching Course is compulsory for any coach wishing to coach at WDNA during the Winter season who does not currently hold a formal coaching accreditation (Foundation, Development, Intermediate, etc.) or has not attended our New Coaches Workshop.
This course is specifically designed for new and beginner coaches. It provides a two-hour learning opportunity to develop a strong understanding of the coaching role, expectations and responsibilities, along with practical components to build coaching confidence and capability.
Each session covers essential Netball skills including:
- Correct technique for all ball skills
- Footwork fundamentals
- Defensive body positioning
- Shooting techniques
- Attacking skills
All 2026 courses will be held at the WDNA Clubrooms
There are two course options available, tailored to the age group you will be coaching:
NSG – Year 2-5
Monday 13 April 6-8pm
Saturday 18 April 8-10am
Junior/Open - 11U-Open
Wednesday 5 April 6-8pm
Saturday 18 April 10am-12pm

Development coach practical workshop
The Development Coach Workshop is a practical and engaging learning experience designed to take your coaching to the next level. Guided by accredited Netball Australia facilitators, this face-to-face session brings together theory and on-court application.
What you’ll learn:
- Demonstrate effective coaching communication and group management strategies
- Review and apply the first five steps of the seven steps of skill progression
- Apply the principles of the Netball Australia KNEE Program
- Apply netball techniques in relevant on-court situations
Who is this course for:
This workshop is ideal for foundation-accredited coaches who are ready to progress their learning and grow into confident, knowledgeable development-level coaches.
Requirements:
- Current Foundation Coach Accreditation
- Completed Development Coach Online Course
- A current Rules of Netball Exam pass (70% or higher)

📍 Location: Wanneroo Districts Netball Association
(Please meet in the clubrooms upon arrival)
This workshop is delivered face-to-face by Netball Australia-accredited facilitators. Be prepared for both theory and on-court practical components—bring appropriate activewear and footwear.
