Our New Coaches Workshop is designed to support coaches who are new to coaching at WDNA or new to netball coaching more broadly. This practical, supportive session will give you the confidence and tools to get started and feel prepared for the season ahead.
Who is this for?
Coaches new to WDNA
First-time coaches
Coaches without a current Netball Australia accreditation
Anyone wanting a refresher on the basics of coaching junior netball.
What will be covered?
Part 1: Practical – Coaches should dress in coaching attire. Minimal movement is required, and any physical limitations should be discussed with the facilitator.
Part 2: Theory – Coaches should bring their own water bottle and writing materials.
All 2026 courses will be held at the WDNA Clubrooms

Beginners Coaching Course
The Beginners Coaching Course is compulsory for any coach wishing to coach at WDNA during the Winter season who does not currently hold a formal coaching accreditation (Foundation, Development, Intermediate, etc.) or has not attended our New Coaches Workshop.
This course is specifically designed for new and beginner coaches. It provides a two-hour learning opportunity to develop a strong understanding of the coaching role, expectations and responsibilities, along with practical components to build coaching confidence and capability.
Each session covers essential Netball skills including:
- Correct technique for all ball skills
- Footwork fundamentals
- Defensive body positioning
- Shooting techniques
- Attacking skills
All 2026 courses will be held at the WDNA Clubrooms
There are two course options available, tailored to the age group you will be coaching:
NSG – Year 2-5
Wednesday 4 March 6-8pm
Wednesday 11 March 6-8pm
Junior/Open - 11U-Open
Wednesday 18 March 6-8pm
